At the centre of Laxfield you’ll find the stunning All Saints Church and the historic Laxfield Guildhall, a 16th-century building that now houses the Laxfield & District Museum.
The museum is a real highlight,a beautiful old building with fascinating displays of rural life over the past two centuries, including hands-on activities for children. It’s free to enter and open during weekends and local market days, making it a perfect stop for families.
Traditional Pubs Full of Character
Laxfield is well known for its traditional Suffolk pubs. One of the most famous is The King’s Head (Low House) — a truly unique pub dating back to the 16th century.
What makes it special? There’s no bar! Drinks are served directly from casks in a traditional tap room, offering a wonderfully authentic experience. Expect cosy interiors, open fires in winter, and a relaxed beer garden in the summer.
Alongside this, the village also has another welcoming pub, creating a friendly and sociable atmosphere at the heart of the community. Situated on the high street, The Royal Oak. This also has outside seating and open fires.
Both pubs offer superb food , coffee and cake.
